Wiley Petersen, Pro Bull Rider

Wiley Petersen is from Fort Hall, Idaho, north of Pocatello in Eastern Idaho. This painting will be on display at the Idaho Watercolor Society's Annual Show during the month of June at the Gallery at Boise State University.

Maestro! (Fred Choate)

I've been experimenting with painting portraits in oil, and here is my first effort, friend and fellow artist, Fred Choate. He was very cute about this painting: He said that if he were to ever post a photo on a dating website, this would be the image he'd use!

Unfinished

I started this painting about four years ago after moving to Idaho. I just quit working on it. I remember Iosing interest and not being happy about something. Looking at it today, I see great texture and color, and I'm moved to finish it! This interesting man was shopping at an herbal store's stall at an open market when he caught my (camera's) eye.

Louis captured the full range of the color spectrum in reflected light on his fair skin.

"Curley Calhoun" and "Susie's Hibiscus"are on display at the Idaho Watercolor Society group show at the Initial Point Gallery at the Meridian City Hall through Thursday, December 2, 2010. Please attend the opening reception on Wednesday, November 10, 2010 from 11 am to 2 pm.




UPDATE: There was a large crowd at the reception and the paintings all looked wonderful!
